Recently the first six employees in ESAB Middle East business successfully passed the newly launched Green card level of ESAB’s Diamond Products and Process Education program. The program has been developed and piloted in ESAB Middle East, and is a structured education program with three certification levels (Green, Silver and Diamond) and is aimed at sales staff and country managers in the region.
The aim of the first certification level ‘Green card’ is to understand the core ESAB product range and to be able to talk about welding and cutting processes with customers, as well as discuss relevant information on products. The Green card level program consists of 40 hours of lecturers, homework, practical sessions, three individual exams and a final three hour long exam.
At the graduation ceremony Johan Fransson, Diamond Program Manager and ESAB Middle East Technical Director, commented, "This is a remarkable milestone in ESAB Middle East’s history. We have now taken a firm initiative to develop knowledge and competence in our employees in order to strengthen our ability to give qualified support to our customers. We believe this is one of the corner stones in order to continue our rapid and profitable growth in a region where it’s becoming more and more difficult to recruit qualified people with experience from the welding and cutting business."
The next ESAB Middle East Green card group will start the program at the end of the year. Other ESAB regions have expressed an interest in the program and the long-term aim is to organise some form of training of "Green card super users" at a later stage.
