All ESAB units work continuously to substitute substances to less hazardous substances. ESAB has one common internal standard for elimination of hazardous substances where all chemical substances that shall not be used in products and processes (banned) or whose use shall be limited as far as feasible in products and processes (phase-out) are listed.

The scope of this procedure is the raw materials, components, chemicals used by ESAB in production processes, construction or maintenance and all products sold by ESAB. Although these guidelines have been developed to meet both legal and other requirements they are in no way a substitute for legal requirements.
